Today, there are numerous business analyst jobs that the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts will continue to grow through 2026. It’s time to train your analysts onsite. Here are four reasons why this is a better option than conducting offsite training online.
1. It’s Worth the Cost
You might be tempted to see if online training is less expensive, and it probably is, but on-site training gives your independent contractors a personal touch. They can see your business headquarters and get to know your permanent staff, which is likely the support staff with whom they’ll work. They will also get to meet you face-to-face, and you should never discount that. Yes, video conferencing is all the rage now, but nothing replaces that firm and comforting handshake.
2. It Establishes Comfortable Relationships
After that handshake, the training can begin and people will work together to complete it. This establishes personal relationships that are comfortable and productive. You may fly in analysts from all over the world, but once in a room together, they will get to know each other and become colleagues and friends. This helps your business in the future when they need to rely on each other for help and advice. Who knows was issues may arise with your clients in which one can assist the other.
3. It Lets Analysts Learn About Your Company
Before everyone gets to learn to be an analyst, you can give a presentation about your business and how it benefits your clients. This sales pitch, if you will, helps the analysts build confidence in working for you, and it also helps them perform their jobs better once out in the field. If they know everything you stand for, there is less chance they’ll upset a client once on the many projects you will assign them. They need to know how to represent you, and it’s much better to teach them in person than online.
4. It Allows You to Review Them
Finally, once the on-site sessions are complete, the teachers can sit down with you and go over each analyst’s performance. You will find this feedback extremely useful. It’s almost as if it’s a parent-teacher conference. You can offer the strongest analysts contracts with your business and let the ones who didn’t perform as well go if that’s what you’d like to do. By hosting the training onsite, you get firsthand knowledge of each analyst from the person who taught them, and this helps you hire the best.
When you train your business analysts at your corporate headquarters, you show them that you are willing to make an investment in their future. When you couple that will the personal experience of meeting them and telling them about your company, you’re sure to have a group of people dedicated to your mission and willing to learn. Perhaps this is the best benefit of on-site schooling. When they’re dedicated to your business, they’ll work harder for you and your clients, and that means greater profits.
