6. Reduce Your Electric Water Heating

To stop the wastage, consider installing an electronic timer switch. There are timers available for different heaters that you can buy and program to heat your water only when you need it.

Make sure you drain your tank and flush out all the sediments at the bottom to avoid wasting energy on heating sediments before reaching the water. This way, your heater will only use the energy it needs.
