Ways to Make Extra Cash While Studying

Ways to Make Extra Cash While Studying
  • Opening Intro -

    University can be ridiculously expensive.

With not only tuition fees to worry about, but also expenses, course equipment and the rising costs of living, it can be incredibly hard for students to manage.

You may choose to study online, such as a health care law degree online from Hofstra Law, in the hope this will give you more time to work. While this is a great option, and it does give you more flexibility to work, there’s only so much you can do before your studies get neglected. Here are some simple ways you can earn some extra cash while studying.

Start a Blog

Blogging is a great way to make some extra money. It can take a lot of work, so I would recommend basing it around your studies and using it to aid your research. If, for example, you were studying a health care law degree, you could blog about law. If you wanted to do something different, make it something you know a lot about. This will mean it’s relatively easy for you to write content and doesn’t need to take up a lot of your time. There are many options when it comes to monetizing a blog, from Google AdSense to affiliate marketing.

Market Research

Join online survey or market research sites. Some offer up to $5 per survey. It won’t earn you a lot, but it’s easy to do, and any little extra you can earn will add up. Also, consider joining a secret shopper service. You get sent on assignments to basically shop and report back on how it went. You may not earn much, but you could get free meals or money off shopping bills.

Sell Your Skills

If you’ve got any special talents or skills, you could use them to make some extra cash. If you can write, sell yourself as a freelance writer; this could give you some flexibility when it comes to when and how much you work. If you’re a keen photographer, consider selling your photographs to a stock website.

Start an Ecommerce Business

Another skill you may be able to profit from is if you have any crafting abilities. Is there anything you’re particularly good at making? Perhaps that you’ve made as a gift for someone? This is a great way to turn an enjoyable hobby into a business. You could either sell via a marketplace such as Etsy, or set up a blog for e-commerce, which would allow you to run your own business.

Invest

This one only really works if you have a little cash in the first place, but a sensible investment when you are able to could end up seeing a much higher return. Do a lot of research, and consider speaking to someone that knows the stock market before you commit to any investment. Always make sure to never invest more than you can afford to lose.

Whatever option you choose, always be sure to put your studies first. With university becoming more expensive, it’s very important you take it seriously and give it your best. Or all of this hard work will be for nothing.
